My Grandfather Charles Thomas was Master of the Blue Circle and I believe was in the Home Guard during WW2 as a marine firefighter. I have a photo of the Blue Circle at work with crew if you are interested. My Mother remembers going down to a spot near where the now millenium dome stands on a sunday night to help her Father in Law fire up the boiler.
