DOCK EXTENSION 1963/66

By Jack Willis

The major dock expansion was completed between 1963 and 1966. Here are some photographs that I took on slides. This area was a rubbish dump during the Edwardian and Victorian times. I spent many hours playing here and around the two large pits full of water that were used to fabricate floating pontoons for the D Day landings .  Does anyone else remember playing here?
