This bulk carrier dated from 1982 when it was built in Japan for a Swedish owner as LAPPLAND. In 1991, it was sold to a Malaysian shipping organisation with multinational interests. As HANDY EXPLORER it was owned by Bulk Transport Shipping Inc, of Kuala Lumpur, managed by a Hong Kong outfit, and was registered in the Philippines. In April 2004, she was sold by Bulk Transport Shipping and two names and two owners later was broken up in Pakistan in 2012.
