  • Sailed on her as 2nd Mate when she was Star Bulford.
    Joined 23rd January 1975 in Tampa and left in Tilbury 14th April 1975.
    By that time she had a Rotterdam pool deck and engine crew. Norwegian Master and British officers. Female Purser and female catering crew, all British.

  • I was the first radio officer on board. Covered the trials outside of Liverpool before going to Norway to fit the cranes. Had some trouble with the hatch covers which were of a new type. Eventually were we ready for the first trip.

  • i was in the mess 1969,bob the cook was a scouser he was getting on a a bit but a very funny man. ian (eny) mitchell was pantry ,good ship sailed from tilbury my self and ian lived in the same street in methil fife b4 going to sea ,ship sailed to gulf of mexico ? then vancouver via panama canal there was a dock strike on when we arrived the head docker or stevedor was from same town as myself he had emagrated 18 years previous

  • Was machanic, junior, 4th, 3rd,2nd and chief engineer on Star Pinewood from 1969 to 1984 when it was sold on as the Star Bulford
