  • I also remember the steam ferries from the 1960’s.
    I remember looking down and watching them stoking the boilers. I think Catherine was the passenger ferry and Tessa was the car ferry.

    Used them so many times in 1940s, getting to gravesend open air pool.Very nostalgic photos!

  • the small ferry is the new diesel powered one,the one on the left is one of the older steam vessel.I used to go on them when i went swimming in the open air pool in gravesend…i liked the old one best!
