Tilbury B Power Station

Partially constructed c.1964

The first picture is of a painting of Tilbury B Power Station during its construction period.  The south chimney appears to be complete but the north chimney has yet to be started.  Tilbury A Power Station can be seen in the background.

This picture hung for many years in the carpenter’s workshop.  Does anybody that was on the site during construction remember the painting and who painted it?

The second picture is a photo of the power station at a similar stage of its construction taken from a slightly different viewpoint.  In this picture construction of the south chimney has not yet been completed.

  • Here is a photo of the site now. I spent many working days with the engineers here and Tilbury A.   Does anyone know of the site’s future?                                                                                                                    JACK WILLIS.
