Rita and Sonia are cousins who lost touch many years ago. Even comparing Rita in her Wedding photograph (1950), with the Flood photograph (1953), Sonia cannot pick out Rita in the Flood photo. She asks would you please pass on her best wishes to Rita and remind her that during the floods, Rita’s Sister Patsy and their Mother, stayed at Sonia’s home.

Do you know if one of the girls is Rita Edith Golding? Rita is my 89 year old neighbour. She says she met the Queen in Tilbury many years ago. She says the queen visited the Seamen’s Mission. I would be grateful for any information.

I am the baby being held directly in front of Her Majesty by Nellie O’Neil – Powell. My Mum (Irene Pearl Powell – Ginns) is standing next to us and you can just see her profile. I now live in the USA and this photo is proudly on display.
