Manorway Cricket Team 1962

Paul Johnson

This photo was taken at Manorway school in 1962 and I am third from left in the front row holding a “Ted Dexter” bat which, in those days, was a real luxury! Luckily, I wrote the names on the back of the photograph and they are:

Front Row (from left) John Deal, Leslie Morgan, Paul Johnson, Eddie Noble, Dennis Pearce, John Goyette.

I have no contact with any of these nowadays. I seem to recall that my father (Peter Johnson) played cricket with the father of Dennis Pearce (Dennis and I used to open the batting) and I remember Eddie Noble as a very good fast bowler.
