  • The two ships in the photo are the P & O liner Chusan anchored in Gravesend Reach while the B & I liner Uganda waits at the landing stage to begin her maiden voyage to East Africa, the picture is the frontispiece in PLA monthly October 1952, a copy of which is in Grays Library.

  • Grays Library has a copy of the picture of the two ships according to the caption the ship in the river is the P&O liner ‘Chusan’ and the liner at the landing stage is the B I ‘Uganda’ waiting to begin her maiden voyage to East Africa, the picture is in PLA monthly number 324: October 1952.
