My grandfather has left this interesting newspaper story about when he was station master at Tilbury in the 1953 floods. He mentions my younger sister Marilyn. When she was two, she stayed with them for a short time. He also recalls the terrible events on that night when the sea wall was breached and Tilbury was flooded.
