These pictures were taken when my aunt Mrs. Winnie Foster was living in Moore Avenue, Tilbury with her husband Jack and two sons Ivor and young Jack, at the time of the 1953 Tibury floods.
I was in Moore Ave in the flood(jane shaw) I think we lived at number 3 or 5, my dads name was George and mum Florrie. My sister Margaret. To this day I have a fear of water.

I live down Moore Avenue and it has come to my attention that i it looks completely different to how it is today. I am only 11 years old so i do not know much about the flood of Tilbury but Moore Avenue was flooded and the set-out of the street is not as i know of it today.
