This view from Tilbury Hotel looks toward to the part of the docks known as The Basin which was used by the boats of the John Cockerill line which ran between Tilbury and Belgium. It was the location of an industrial dispute when it was proposed to use fork lift trucks in place of the traditional hand barrows. This eventually led to the end of the Cockerill line services and the dispute was never properly resolved
