Victorian Freemasonry and the Building of Tilbury Docks is a recent book about Tilbury and the building of the docks by Richard Burrell. The book describes how and why the Tilbury Docks were built. Seven of the people who built the docks were Freemasons who founded a new lodge. While building the docks, these Freemasons became involved in a dispute which brought the mighty East & West India Docks Company to its knees.
