The bulk carrier CRANE (23,149 tons gross, 40,404 deadweight) was built at Osaka, Japan, and completed in July 1976 as ANTIGONE. After a name change in 1987, she became CRANE in January 1990 and retained this name until September 2003, when she was sold to the People’s Republic of China and renamed DA SHUN. As CRANE, she flew the flag of Cyprus, owned by Irisia Marine Ltd, registered in Famagusta, and managed by Greek company Ranger Marine.
