SEA PROTEUS leaving the Thames

The bulk carrier SEA PROTEUS leaving the Thames for Falmouth for orders. She is possibly the largest vessel to berth in Tilbury docks. The lock is 34 m wide and the SEA PROTEUS is 32 m beam a tight fit. A group of us were listening on the pilots radio and there was a lot of communication between the bridge and the tugs.. Her tonnage is 43,951gt with a dead weight of over 80,000 . The photo with the pilot vessel GUIDE alongside gives a good perspective of her size with men on the deck.
