Saturday 30th of March 2024, the last day of the Tilbury -Gravesend ferry. I have been using the ferry since 1954 yes 70 years ! I have included the last trip of the 1924 built TESSA capable of carrying 30 cars and 250 passengers. This was in 1965 ! In those days the ferry was run by the London ,Midland and Scottish Railways ( LMS ) Somewhere in my archives I have some original tickets and photos of the two passenger vessels ROSE and CATHERINE. I will put them on the site when I find them. JACOB MARLEY will be operating out of the River Medway after a refit.
