Memories of a Tilbury Family

David Scott and his brothers

My name is David Scott. I went to St. Chads school when I lived in the old Kipling Ave after the war. We then moved to Tennyson Walk. I got married in 1951. We lived in lodgeing in Manor Road with a Mr Lawrence.

We were allocated a council house in Stifford Clays. My wife passed away in 1995. I had a triple heart by pass and a carotiod artery by pass on Friday the 13th March 1998. After I recoverd from that I moved over to St. Peters, Broadstairs Kent.

I am now in my 85th year. I promised my family that I would try to make it till I am 100 hundred years old as I would like to get a telegram from the Queen. I bought myself a computer and started tracing my family tree.

I was born at number 11 Brooke Road Plaistow. My parents moved dow to Tilbury when I was one year old.

I am the last surviveing member of my family. I had three other brothers now all passed away. Robert (Bob) the eldest killed in 1943 R.A.F. Les, Sidney have passed away. Cannot remember the exact years. My brother Bob’s name is on the clock tower in Civic Square.

Regards , David Scott
